Guts & Glory Tour 2

This July Sean Skinner's Guts & Glory Tour will be making a stop in the Vancouver area.
Going to this camp is a gift for my 30th birthday, and I am really excited about learning some drills to improve my stick handling. If you are wondering who Sean Skinner is you can check out Sean Skinner's website. I will be attending, and blogging daily about my experience at the camp.

Spring League Hockey

Nothing like going to hockey on a warm spring evening. I was planning to take the summer off this year, and that lasted 2 months. I'm joining a new team tonight, and it looks like I'll be playing with them for the rest of the summer. Most rinks do have spring hockey, and it's a great way to meet other players and get some exercise.

Team USA Wins Women's World Hockey Championship

There were several long faces in Harbin, China Saturday April 12th as the Women's USA hockey team was able to beat Canada 4-3. Canada started out with a goal by Sarah Vaillancourt in the first period, followed by four unanswered goals for Team USA. Jenny Potter opened the scoring for the USA squad, followed by Angela Ruggiero, and two goals from Natalie Darwitz.
Jennifer Botterill and Katie Weatherston scoring in the third period, but Canada wasn’t able to make it back from the three goal deficit.

A competitive tournament is great for the game, and the USA-Canada rivalry is really heating up. I expect that the Canadian girls will come back to the next tournament hungry for victory.

Number 22

Recently, Hayley Wickenheiser came to Vancouver for a game against the BC Breakers.
I wasn't about to pass this opportunity up for anything. She is one of those athletes that has the rare ability to own her competition. Hayley's level of play was even higher than I had expected, as she raced down the wing going top shelf on the goalie. There was no corner of the ice untouched, as she stole the puck from everyone in her sight. Hockey is a sport that demands physical fitness, mental toughness, and balance. There are very few players that can master all of these aspects of the game.

Who is your number 22?
